Creating clickable buttons on your WordPress site is an easy way to direct visitors to key pages, products, or external websites. Adding and linking buttons is fast and straightforward. Follow this step-by-step guide to learn how.
Step 1: Open Your Page in Elementor
Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
Go to Pages or Posts, depending on where your button will be added.
Find the page you want to edit and click Edit with Elementor.
Step 2: Add a Button Widget
In the Elementor editor, locate the Elements Panel on the left.
Search for the Button widget.
Drag the Button widget to the desired location on your page.
Step 3: Configure the Button Text
Click on the button to select it.
In the Content tab, enter the text you want the button to display (e.g., “Shop Now”, “Learn More”).
Step 4: Add a Link to Your Button
In the Link field (found under the Content tab), enter the URL where you want visitors to go:
For internal pages, you can type the page name and select it from the dropdown.
For external websites, paste the full URL, including
https://.
Optional: Click the gear icon next to the URL to open link options:
Open in new window – Use this if linking to an external website.
Add nofollow – Use this for SEO purposes if linking externally.
Step 5: Style Your Button (Optional)
Switch to the Style tab to adjust:
Color and typography
Background and border
Padding and margin
Elementor offers real-time previews, so you can see how your button will look on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Step 6: Save Your Changes
Once you’re satisfied, click the Update button at the bottom of the Elementor panel.
Preview your page to ensure the button links correctly and appears as intended.
Helpful Tips:
Use clear and action-oriented text (e.g., “Download Now” instead of “Click Here”).
Keep the button design consistent with your website branding.
Ensure links are working before publishing your page.
